Held by the Nikon Corporation, the Nikon Photo contest is one of the most well respected competitions for creative members of the image-making community, and is judged by leading photographers and directors from around the world. This year is one of the first to accept film entries, and Drew is extremely honored to have received the 3rd place prize for his directorial debut short film “Dunes: Abstract Expressions.”
The film is a a visual journey through the immense sand dunes of Namibia’s Sossusveli desert. These mountains of sand have a complex relationship to light and shadow, and devoid of context, people, plants or animals, the imagery seen is a study in abstraction.
